Stainless Steel Dinnerware That Survives Family Life

Knocked off the bench. Packed into a camping bag. Put through the
dishwasher every single day for years. Our 304-grade stainless steel
plates and bowls do not chip, crack, warp or develop the hairline
fractures that harbour bacteria in ceramic and plastic. The same
durability that makes them the right choice for a toddler's highchair
makes them the right choice for a hiking pack, a school bag, or a
kitchen that just wants plates that last.

Non-Porous Steel Means Actually Clean

Plastic and bamboo are porous materials. They absorb odours, stains from tomato sauce and turmeric, and hold bacteria in microscopic scratches that build up over time. Stainless steel is non-porous. Nothing absorbs into the surface. A standard dishwasher cycle removes everything, and the plate comes out the same as it went in. That is not a marketing claim. It is just how non-porous materials work.

The Last Steel Dinnerware You Will Buy

The average household replaces plastic dinnerware every one to two years. It cracks, it stains, the coating goes, and it gets thrown out. Our stainless steel plates and bowls are designed to outlast all of it. Not just for a season or a phase. For the long haul. No replacement cycle. No recurring plastic waste. Just the same plates, still doing their job, a decade from now.

What non-toxic kids' dinnerware does Greenvyne make?

Our dinnerware collection includes a 3-section bento-style divided stainless steel plate, a 20cm round meal plate, stainless steel bowls in two sizes (12cm and 14cm), a 3-piece kids' cutlery set with silicone grip handles, and silicone suction pads compatible with our bowls and plates. All dinnerware is made from food-grade 304 or 316-grade stainless steel, completely free from BPA, phthalates, coatings and dyes. We are an Australian-owned business and ship nationwide.

What is the safest material for kids' plates and bowls in Australia?

Food-grade 304 stainless steel (also labelled 18/8) is widely considered the safest and most durable choice for children's dinnerware. It is completely inert, meaning it does not react with food, does not release chemicals when heated, and contains no BPA, phthalates, melamine or coatings that can chip or flake. It is the same material used in professional kitchens, hospitals and food manufacturing facilities worldwide. For context, many "bamboo-fibre" kids' plates are bonded with melamine resin, and most plastic plates carry some chemical risk regardless of BPA-free labelling. Stainless steel has no equivalent concerns under normal use conditions.

Are Greenvyne's divided plates good for picky eaters?

Yes, and that is specifically why we designed them. Our 3-section bento-style divided plate keeps foods completely separated, which matters a great deal to children with sensory sensitivities or strong food preferences. The three sections are sized to work as a practical meal layout: a main portion, a side, and a smaller section for fruit or a treat. Many parents find that divided plates reduce mealtime battles simply by removing the problem of foods touching. Our divided plates are available as a single or a 2-pack. They are equally useful for adults with sensory sensitivities and special needs, who prefer a structured plate layout.

What age is Greenvyne's kids' dinnerware suitable for?

Our dinnerware is designed for a wide age range. The divided plates and bowls are suitable from around 6 months as babies begin solids and progress to self-feeding. Adding a silicone suction pad to any bowl or plate makes it more stable for babies and young toddlers who are still developing coordination. Our 3-piece cutlery set with silicone grip handles is designed for children from approximately 18 months who are learning to self-feed. The 20cm meal plate and our upcoming 26cm adult plate work well from toddler age through to adults, making them a practical choice
for the whole household.

Is Greenvyne dinnerware dishwasher safe?

Yes. All Greenvyne stainless steel products are dishwasher safe. We recommend placing items on the top rack where possible and avoiding prolonged exposure to high-temperature steam cycles, which can accelerate the discolouration of any stainless steel over time. Standard eco dishwasher detergent is fine. If you notice any water spotting after dishwashing, which can occur with hard water, a quick wipe with a dry cloth immediately after the cycle finishes will prevent it. Our products are designed for real daily use, which means daily dishwasher cycles are absolutely fine.

Are Greenvyne's kids' plates and cutlery safety tested?

Yes. For products designed for children up to 36 months, we test to EN 14372:2004, the European standard for the safety of children's cutlery and feeding utensils. This covers both mechanical safety (sharp edges, small parts separation, drop impact, tensile stress) and chemical safety (migration of elements, phthalates, nickel release and volatile compounds). It is a more rigorous child-specific standard than general food contact migration testing alone. Full documentation is available on our Quality and Safety page.

What is the difference between the divided plate and the meal plate?

The divided or sectional plate is our 3-section bento-style round plate, designed for children who prefer their foods separated. It has three distinct sections and is particularly popular with toddlers and children with sensory sensitivities. The 20cm meal plate is a standard round plate without dividers, suited to children who are comfortable with a traditional plate layout and ready for a more grown-up table setting. Both are made from the same food-grade 304 stainless steel and are available individually or as part of a bundle.

Can I use a silicone suction pad with any Greenvyne plate or bowl?

Yes. Our silicone suction pads are designed to be compatible with all Greenvyne bowls and plates flat base. They attach to the base of any smooth-bottomed item and create a strong suction on flat surfaces like highchair trays, tables and benchtops. They are sold separately so you can use them selectively, such as only during the early self-feeding stage when bowls getting flipped is the main problem. The suction pads are made from food-grade silicone and are top rack dishwasher safe.
