The Details

  • 600ml capacity, 14cm L x 10.5cm W x 6.5cm H. Right for a single serve, a snack, or a baby's meal.
  • Microwave-safe stainless steel base. Remove the glass lid, place in the microwave, reheat and eat.
  • Oven-safe. Freezer-safe. Dishwasher-safe; top rack for the glass lid.
  • Electropolished inside and out. Turmeric, tomato and curry leave no stain and no residual smell after a dishwasher cycle.
  • Tempered glass lid lets you see what's inside without opening it.
  • LFGB-certified silicone seal and vent plug. Independently lab-tested.
  • Nesting design. Containers stack inside one another when lids are off to save cupboard space.

The Bigger Picture

  • A household using 600ml containers daily for snacks, breakfasts and small meals goes through a significant amount of disposable or lower-quality plastic in a year. Six of these replace all of it, permanently. 304-grade stainless steel does not warp, stain or absorb odours. The container bought today works the same in ten years.
  • No plastic on any food-contact surface. Non-reactive steel body, inert glass lid, LFGB-certified silicone seal.
  • Plastic-free packaging throughout.
  • Australian-owned. Packed with care and dispatched from Melbourne.

Microwave Safe Stainless Steel Food Storage Container | 600ml

$59.95

Is the 600ml container suitable for babies and toddlers?

Yes. 304-grade stainless steel is non-reactive and completely food-safe, with no coatings, no BPA and nothing that leaches into food. Many families use the 600ml size specifically to take purées and toddler portions, alongside its everyday use for snacks and single-serve meals on the go. Always check food temperature before serving to a baby or young child, as with any container after microwave or oven reheating.

Why buy multiple 600ml containers instead of a mixed set?

The 600ml is the size used most often, and it's the one most likely to be needed more than once in a single day: breakfast, a snack, a baby's lunch, leftovers that evening. A single container means constant washing between uses. A multi-pack means the day's meals and snacks can be packed and stored without reaching for the same container twice before it's had a chance to be washed.

What if my container gets dented or damaged?

A significantly dented, deeply scratched or deformed container should not go in the microwave, as damage can create uneven surfaces that change how microwave energy is distributed. That said, a damaged container can still be used safely for everyday lunch, fridge and freezer storage, meal prep, and oven use with the lid removed. It just cannot be used safely in a microwave.

How do I safely microwave the stainless steel food storage containers?

Remove the glass lid before microwaving. Place the steel base in the microwave and reheat in 60-second increments at a maximum of 1000W. Maximum 5 minutes total reheating time. Stir between each increment.

Use in microwaves up to 1000W. Do not use in older 915MHz microwaves or combi ovens. Use a glass turntable where available. Keep the container away from metal surfaces inside the microwave, including metal racks and the microwave wall.

The container will be hot when removed. Use oven gloves or a tea towel to handle it. Do not microwave when empty. Avoid foods that reach extreme temperatures, such as popcorn or sugar, as these can cause burn marks on the steel interior.

How does standard stainless steel differ from microwave-safe stainless steel?

Standard stainless steel containers often have sharp rims, square corners, or folded seams that concentrate microwave energy and cause electric arcing (sparks). Greenvyne containers are engineered with continuous rounded curves and smooth electropolished walls that allow microwave waves to distribute evenly across the surface without arcing.

What is the best use for a 600ml container versus the 1500ml size?

The 600ml capacity is designed for individual meal portions (overnight oats, a portion of shredded chicken, side salads, or baby food served cold or warmed up on the go). The larger 1500ml size is built for generous portions of adult lunch, family side dishes, bulk cut vegetables, store leftovers or marinate proteins.

Can this container go straight from the freezer into the oven or microwave?

While the 304 grade stainless steel base can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 250°C, the glass lid must be removed to avoid extreme thermal shock. If moving a meal from the freezer to the oven or microwave, let the container sit on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes, and remove the glass lid prior to oven or microwave use.

Does 304 stainless steel absorb tomato, turmeric, or garlic smells?

No. 304 food-grade stainless steel is completely non-porous and electropolished. Unlike polypropylene plastic containers, it will not absorb grease, oils, or strong spices, returning to a neutral surface after a standard dishwasher cycle.
