What You Get

Small rectangular set of 3: 1 x 650ml, 1 x 1000ml and 1 x 1350ml stainless steel containers.
Each container comes with a tempered glass lid, LFGB-certified silicone seal and vent plug.
Stainless steel bases nest inside each other, with the lids sitting on top. Orders are dispatched from Melbourne within one business day.

The Details

  • 650ml, 1000ml and 1350ml, all 19cm L x 11.7cm W, with heights of 5cm, 7.5cm and 8.9cm.
  • Narrow profile that fits a standard fridge door pocket or shelf. Tested in a 496L fridge.
  • Same footprint across all three, so they sit side by side, and the bases nest inside each other when empty to save storage space.
  • Microwave-safe stainless steel base. Remove the glass lid, place in the microwave, reheat and eat.
  • Oven-safe. Freezer-safe. Dishwasher-safe; top rack for the glass lid.
  • Electropolished inside and out. Soups, tomato-based sauces and curries leave no stain and no residual smell after a dishwasher cycle.
  • Tempered glass lid lets you see what's inside without opening it.
  • LFGB-certified silicone seal and vent plug. Independently lab-tested.

The Bigger Picture

  • The small, everyday containers are the ones that get replaced most often because they stain, warp and lose their lids. A set that lasts removes that cycle.
  • 304-grade stainless steel does not warp, stain or absorb odours. The container bought today works the same in ten years.
  • No plastic on any food-contact surface. Non-reactive steel body, inert glass lid, LFGB-certified silicone seal.
  • Plastic-free packaging throughout.
  • Australian-owned. Packed with care and dispatched from Melbourne.

Microwave Safe Stainless Steel Food Containers | Rectangular Small 3pc

$84.95

What can I store in the small food storage containers?

Anything that fits the dimensions. Soups, cooked rice and noodles, protein balls, cookies, cherry tomatoes, sushi, banana bread and leftovers all fit well, and the containers are freezer-safe, so soup and cooked rice can go straight in. Fill to within 1 to 2cm of the top to allow for expansion.

Do the small containers fit in a fridge door or shelf?

Yes. At 19cm long by 11.7cm wide, the narrow profile fits a standard fridge door pocket or shelf. We tested the set in 500L+ fridges. Door pockets vary between fridge models and brands, so check yours if it is a compact or older model before purchasing.

What size container do I need for soup, work lunches or kids' lunches?

The 650ml suits a single serve of work lunch of rice or noodles, or a main for a toddler or school lunch. The 1000ml suits a generous lunch or servings of soup. The 1350ml suits leftovers for two, a bigger salad or a batch of protein balls or burger patties.

Why are all three containers the same length and width?

Length and width stay the same across the set, 19cm by 11.7cm, and only the height changes (5cm, 7.5cm and 8.9cm). That keeps the three sitting side by side with straight edges, and the bases nest inside each other when empty for storage.

Are the small containers microwave safe?

The stainless steel base is microwave-safe. Remove the glass lid, place the base in the microwave and reheat in increments of up to 2 minutes at 1000W, stirring between cycles. Do not microwave when empty, and use oven mitts or a towel to handle the container, as it may get hot.

Are the small containers oven safe?

Yes, the stainless steel base is oven safe up to 200°C. Remove the glass lid first, as it is not for oven use. Let the container cool before replacing the lid and seal for storage, as the steel stays hot for several minutes.

Can I freeze soup and cooked rice in the small containers?

Yes, the containers are freezer safe. Let the food cool first, then fill to within 1 to 2cm of the top to allow for expansion, seal the lid and freeze. Thaw in the fridge overnight for the most even reheat, then microwave the steel base with the glass lid removed.

What is the difference between the small set and the standard rectangular set?

The standard set has three different footprints: 600ml, 1500ml and 2900ml, so it covers snacks, meal prep and batch cooking. The small set is three narrow containers with the same footprint, 650ml, 1000ml and 1350ml, so they sit together neatly and suit everyday portions: soups, rice, leftovers and fruit. For batch cooking or bulk pantry staples, the standard set's 2900ml or the large set's 2300ml and 3000ml are the better choices.

Which should I buy: the Small set, the standard 3pc set or the Large set?

Choose the Small set (650ml, 1000ml, 1350ml) for everyday portions such as soup, rice, leftovers and fruit. Choose the standard 3pc set (600ml, 1500ml, 2900ml) for a mix of snack, meal prep and batch cooking sizes. Choose the Large set (1600ml, 2300ml, 3000ml) for bulk cooking, marinating, pantry staples and entertaining. Within each set, all three containers share the same footprint and only the height changes.

Are the small containers good for picnics and caravans?

Yes. The 1000ml and 1350ml containers are narrow at 11.7cm wide but 7.5cm and 8.9cm deep, which hold three to four layers of strawberries or similar-sized berries. The stainless steel body won't shatter, and the bases nest into very little space. The tempered glass lid is tougher than standard glass but can still break if it takes a hard knock, so pack the lids where nothing will land on them.

Do the small containers nest for storage?

Yes. When empty, the three bases nest inside each other, because all three share the same 19cm x 11.7cm footprint and only the height changes (5cm, 7.5cm and 8.9cm). The three lids sit on top, so the set stores in roughly the space of the tallest container.

Are these food storage containers airtight?

Yes. Closing the lid pushes excess air out through the vent as it seals, and the silicone plug then closes the vent completely, creating an airtight seal around the food.

This is a mechanical seal, not a vacuum seal, which uses a manual pump to actively draw air out of the space above the food, the way a dedicated vacuum sealer bag does.
