What You Get

1 x Stainless Steel Sandwich Box - 650ml, with LFGB-certified silicone lid

1 x Stainless Steel Dip Pot - 75ml, with LFGB-certified
silicone lid, designed to nest inside the closed sandwich box

Plastic-free, compostable packaging - presented
well enough to give as a gift without additional wrapping

The dip pot fits inside the sandwich box with both lids on. One item to carry. No loose, leaky containers.

The Details

  • The sandwich box detail comes up most. The 15cm square shape fits a standard slice of bread without cutting, trimming or compressing, which sounds like a small thing until you've been cutting crusts off every morning for a year.
  • The dip pot nesting inside is the second most mentioned. Being able to close the box with the dip pot already inside and drop it in a bag as one unit removes the moment when everything tips over in the car.
  • The non-porous, electropolished finish gets noticed
after the first week. Tahini on Monday, balsamic dressing on Wednesday, pasta sauce on Friday, the box comes out of the dishwasher without any trace of any of them. People who've used plastic lunch boxes for years find this genuinely surprising.
  • Both pieces come apart completely for cleaning. There are no hidden crevices, no valve mechanisms, no parts that require a brush to reach. The lids remove fully from both the sandwich box and the dip pot. Everything goes in the dishwasher.
  • The square shape gets mentioned for packing efficiency, too. It sits flat in a standard insulated lunch bag without wasted space on the sides, which round containers don't do.

The Bigger Picture

  • This set is designed to replace the things that leave your kitchen daily and go straight into the bin. A household that packs a daily lunch goes through roughly 200 to 400 zip-lock bags or equivalent cling wraps and single-use plastic containers a year. This set replaces all of them.
  • 304-grade stainless steel does not degrade. There is no coating to chip, no plastic lid or hinge to crack, no surface that loses integrity in the dishwasher over time. The same set that goes in Monday's bag this week will be doing the same job in five years.
  • Our kraft packaging is plastic-free throughout. No bubble wrap, no polystyrene inserts, no plastic tape.
  • At the very end of its useful life, which for stainless steel is measured in decades, both containers are fully recyclable through standard metal recycling. They do not go to a landfill.
  • We are an Australian-owned small business. Every order supports a direct-to-consumer brand built around making plastic-free products and homewares genuinely accessible.

Dimensions & Care

Dimensions:

  • Sandwich Box: 15cm x 15cm x 4.5cm | 650ml capacity
    Dip Pot: 6.5cm x 3.7cm | 75ml capacity
  • The dip pot nests inside the closed sandwich box
for transport. Both fit in a standard insulated lunch bag.

Use:

  • Suitable for sandwiches, salads, pasta, leftover meals, pastries, cut vegetables, fresh fruit, and any food you would normally pack in a container or zip-lock bag.
  • The dip pot is suited to dressings, dips, hummus, nut butter, tahini, condiments, yoghurt and small quantities of nuts, seeds or berries.
  • Not suitable for microwave use
  • Not suitable for oven use.
  • Not suitable for soups or fully liquid foods carried at an angle.

For best results with liquid-heavy contents in the dip pot, keep it upright during transport.

Care:

  • Both containers are dishwasher safe. Top rack placement is recommended for the silicone lids and dip container to extend their lifespan. The stainless steel sandwich container can go on either rack.
  • Hand washing in warm, soapy water is a good alternative and extends the silicone seal lifespan further.
  • Dry thoroughly after washing to prevent water spotting, particularly in hard water areas. Any spotting is cosmetic only and has no effect on food safety or performance.
  • Before first use, wash both containers in warm soapy water or run through a dishwasher cycle.
  • Bicarb + vinegar soak removes stubborn odours or stains

About LFGB Certification

LFGB is the German Food and Feed Code, the food-contact materials standard applied across the European Union and widely considered the most stringent international benchmark for food safety compliance. It applies stricter migration limits than the US FDA equivalent and requires testing of the actual product in its finished form, not just the raw material.

About 304 Stainless Steel

304-grade stainless steel, also written as 18/8, contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The chromium content creates a passive oxide layer that resists corrosion and prevents the steel from reacting with food under normal use conditions. It is recognised as a safe and stable food-contact material under EU
Framework Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, and is used globally in professional food processing, medical equipment and commercial kitchens.

Unlike coatings or plastics, electropolished 304 stainless steel does not degrade, shed particles or change composition with age or repeated dishwasher use.

Will a full-size sandwich actually fit without cutting or trimming?

Yes, that is the specific problem this box was designed to solve. The 15cm x 15cm square format is sized around a standard Australian bread slice, which typically measures 12 to 13cm across. A full sandwich fits flat with room to spare. No trimming
the crusts, no cutting in half, no compressing the lid down. It arrives at lunch the way you packed it.

Thicker rolls, wraps folded flat and large slices of sourdough also fit within the 4.5cm depth. If you regularly pack very thick, filled rolls or tall, stacked sandwiches, measure against the 4.5cm height before purchasing.

What is the difference between this set and the Horizon Collection dip pot 3-piece set?

This 2-piece set includes one sandwich box and one matching dip pot, designed to work as a daily carry system where the dip pot nests inside the closed sandwich box.

The Horizon Collection is a standalone set of three dip pots in three colours, sold without the sandwich box. It is designed for people who want a dedicated dip pot for multiple days of the week, or who want to use the pots across different containers and bags.

The two products are complementary. If you buy this sandwich box set and want two additional pots so you are not washing the same one daily, the Horizon Collection gives you exactly that.

How much does the dip pot hold - is it big enough for a proper serve of hummus or dressing?

The dip pot is sized at 75ml for a practical single-serve portion, enough for a generous tablespoon or two of hummus, a full serve of salad dressing, a portion of nut butter or a small handful of nuts or seeds. It is not designed to carry a full tub of dip or a large volume of sauce.

Refer to the dimensions section for dimensions and volume. If you regularly need more than a single-serve condiment portion, the Horizon Collection set gives you three pots to work with across a meal.

Is the sandwich box leak-proof?

Both the sandwich box and dip pot are designed to be leak-resistant for normal packed lunch use. The LFGB-certified silicone lid on each container creates a secure seal for sandwiches, salads, moist foods and dressings or dips in the dip pot.

They are not designed to carry soups or fully liquid foods transported on their side. For best results with the dip pot containing liquid dressings, keep it upright in your bag rather than laying the bag flat.

Is this set suitable as a gift?

Yes, it is one of the more practical gift options in the Greenvyne range. The sandwich box set arrives together in plastic-free kraft packaging, presented cleanly enough to give without additional wrapping.

It works well as a gift for anyone who packs a daily lunch, a new school starter, a colleague, someone making the switch from plastic, or anyone who has complained about sandwich containers at least once. The problem it solves is specific enough that the recipient immediately understands what they are getting and why it is better.

Can I buy just the sandwich box without the dip pot?

No. The sandwich box is sold exclusively as a 2-piece set with the matching dip pot. The two pieces are designed to work as a system; the dip pot is sized specifically to nest inside the closed sandwich box, and the set is packaged accordingly.

If you are looking for standalone food storage containers, our stainless steel snack containers and nesting food storage sets are available individually.
